ninth century Muslim kingdom Toledo built used kings Castle, on which in the sixteenth century, built Old Fortress. Fire 1734, Philip V New Palace. Charles III took up residence there in 1764

Outstanding place, taking a coffee in front of the Royal Palace at dawn is one of my favourite things in life :-)
