The Boogaloo

At Big Nose Comedy, on Thursdays at 8 pm, you’ll see midrange, emerging comedians (and the odd headliner), who are the stars of tomorrow. They’ll be honing original material: political, topical stuff, stuff about dating, being in your 30s, a lot of self-deprecation. It’s informal and real. The night has a different theme each time, and the comedians have to do a joke around it. There’s a prize for the best piece of material on that theme. When I performed there, it was on Grexit, but I didn’t realise it only had to be one joke—I did a whole five-minute set! (I didn’t win!)
