Skip the lines and admission fee of the Statue of Liberty and instead take the free roundtrip ferry cruise to Staten Island. There are museums there, or you can just stay on and ride right back.

The best way to see the Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan and it's free! Just take the ferry to Staten Island and turn right around and take the ferry back.
