For a quick completely nature experience. Take the 20 minute walk through the forest at North Point Park and end up on the sand dune bluffs 100’ above Lake Michigan. Perfect place to take a picnic.

This is our favorite South Haven hike, with great views of Lake Michigan from the top of tall sand dunes. Great places along the trail for a picnic.

Locals, very low key beach. sometimes you are the only person out there. you do have to hike some trails to get to the beach tho

This is a less inhabited park that was once a boy scout hideaway. You will pretty much have the beach to yourself yet it is right next door North of Van Buren State Park. You have the same giant vistas from the cliffs above, the dunes to play on, the beach and can walk forever. The walk to the beach is through a lovely woods with moderate hiking skills needed.
