Named after a character in a Nelson Algren novel, Dove’s is an essential 41-stool luncheonette with chef de cuisine Ryan Piotrowski at the helm. Here, southern inspired Mexican food and a tequila- and mezcal-focused bar program reign all day, with tacos, tamales, and ceviche served to the sweet tune of 60s-70s Chicago blues and soul. Brunch service on Saturday & Sunday is on a walk-in basis only. We accept limited reservations for parties up to 4 for lunch and dinner. For parties of 5 or more, please call for availability. We save majority of our seating for walk-in guests.
Second favorite brunch spot in the neighborhood, great for a quick meal before you head back to Ohare on the train. Weekends are pretty busy so it's best to try this one during the week. They are also open for lunch and dinner but we have other recommendations for those.
Homestyle Mexican - an ideal spot to do some people-watching too (I love to sit in the window!)
“Best & most crowded patio in the city in the heart of wicker park neighborhood; good tacos, great whiskey list and killer margaritas”
“If you like donuts, you need to go to Stan's. Nutella stuffed pockets. Pistachio cake. Blueberry fritter. Line can build but goes fast. ”
“You'll know it by the line outside, and the rotating mural. There's a no cell phone policy, so don't expect to photograph any of the creative drinks you're having!”
“Ridiculous burger....fries and shakes some of the best in the city as well. ”
