1983 年12 月24 日に正式に開館した台北市立美術館は、台北市の圓山地区に位置し、敷地総面積は20,442 平方メートル、そのうち11,741 平方メートルの展示空間を備えています。当館は、台湾を代表する現代美術館として、その構想段階から高い理想と目標を掲げ、現代美術の展覧会の企画、台湾地区の代表的美術作品の収集と収蔵を行い、学術的な美術研究に従事するほか、美術教育や国際交流を積極的に推進、現代美術の人材を育ててきました。また、さまざまな芸術活動を行い、芸術愛好者を楽しませています。
