Foce del Fiume Platani Nature Reserve includes the amazing promontory of Capo Bianco where it is possible to visit the ruins of the ancient Heraclea Minoa. Established in 1984, the Foce del Fiume Platani Nature Reserve is a protected area with the aim of preserving some incredible species of migratory birds, and encouraging the regrowth of the Mediterranean vegetation. The reserve is 206 hectares and includes the amazing promontory of Capo Bianco, here you’ll find the ancient Greek town of Heraclea Minoa. Due to its natural beauty and wonderful landscape, the beaches of the Mouth of the River Platani and Borgo Bonsignore have been recommended by the Blue Guide of Legambiente.

La Riserva Naturale Orientata della Foce del Fiume Platani è il luogo perfetto per fare un'escursione sul promontorio di Capo Bianco, godendo di una vista mozzafiato della costa di Eraclea Minoa. La Riserva mostra un mare incontaminato, una spiaggia ampia che si estende per km e una flora tipica siciliana con piante di fichi d India, eucaliptus, cespugli e una pineta. Inoltre i visitatori potranno approfittare della marna bianca per estrarne piccole porzioni e intingerle in acqua per farsi i fanghi d'argilla naturali come scrub.
