One step above a dive bar, but maybe just half a step. They have a lot of craft beers on tap. The place is nothing fancy, kind of a gritty, salty, local surfer vibe, with a lot of San Francisco State University students as well. It’s a fun mix. Wet Wednesdays, which is a charity thing for the local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, is a big draw. They show surf videos, have a DJ, and great drink specials.
Casual, one block from the beach. Easygoing crowd and BINGO on Saturdays at 6.
Little honky-tonk bar by the beach with the look and feel of a small town lodge. Near White Cap cocktail bar. About a 20 min walk or a short Uber/Lyft ride.
“Tired after a long day of sightseeing? Grab a slice or a whole pizza in this neighborhood favorite. Very local vibe and good beers on tap.”
“Get there early to avoid long lines. Try the breakfast sandwich and beignets. ”
“This is a fancy-schmancy response to The Riptide. Cocktails, craft beer & slushies served in cozy, sophisticated quarters with a surfer-cool vibe.”
“This surf shop has a nice selection of surfboards for rent as well as wetsuits if you forgot yours at home.”
“My favorite neighborhood coffee shop and within walking distance. Fresh made in-house scones and pastries. Try their famous drink, the Snowy Plover (sparkling water, espresso, and house made whipped cream). They also have 2 locations on Taraval St. nearby.”
