A great place to go to get away from the city--add on to a walking trip to Volunteer Park for a good urban hike.

Want to feel like you're in the PNW forest but don't want to leave the city? Interlaken Park is a heavily-wooded hillside and ravine tucked between the neighborhoods of Capitol Hill and Montlake. One of my favorite spots.

Just above you, is the hill between Montlake and Capitol Hill in which there are miles of walking, driving and cycling trails - whether you pass through or look for a morning walk, this lovely park, and transition will be enjoyable, and good uphill climb, and you will undoubtedly only see locals.

One of my favorite walks in the city is from the Bungalow, through Volunteer Park, then through the trails in Interlaken Park to the Washington Park Arboretum. Make a day of it!
