上賀茂神社は、京都市北区の賀茂川にかかる御薗橋近くに位置し、繁華街の京都駅や四条河原町からバスでも行くことができます。春や秋の季節の良いときに賀茂川の風景を眺めつつ、のんびり散歩しながら観光ができます。毎年5月15日には京都の三大祭の一つ、葵祭が行われます。

京都でも大変歴史の古い神社の一つ。厄除、八方除、電気の守り神、必勝の神として信仰を集めている。 本殿・権殿は共に流造の典型として国宝に指定され、世界文化遺産にも登録されている。

This is one of my favorite shrine because it's calm, not so crowded and not commercialized but the scenery there is as beautiful as other famous shrines especially in Spring. Moreover since It's along Kamogawa River, you can take a walk around, enjoying beautiful nature:)

Now you are starting to get rather far afield...this is our neighborhood shrine, with a long history and a nice creek running through it.
