23 and 27 buses will take you nearly everywhere you would want to go. Up town and further afield to the university, the Meadows, and to Morningside and Bruntsfield

The no. 7, 10 & 14 buses leaving from the Mill Lane side of the road all go to or very near to Princes Street in the city centre. The flagged stop is the one you get off at on your way home!
