St Martin's Cathedral
Tip: book a tour to the top of the Dom tower and enjoy the view over the city
Sadly it is covered right now but it is still an eye catcher to behold. Did you know that the church is split because of a whirlwind? These are not common in the Netherlands at all.
“A visit to De Haar Castle is a journey of discovery to a marvelous world. There are only a few castles in Europe that have the same ideal image of a medieval fortress with towers and ramparts, with canals, gates and drawbridges as De Haar. The castle - which is the largest and most luxurious castle of The Netherlands - was entirely restored and partially rebuilt in the late 19th century and it rises like a real fairy-tale castle from a park with large trees, surrounded by old gardens and ponds. The park and gardens surrounding De Haar Castle - covering 135 acres of land - are worth a visit in their own right. Nice tours inside & outside the castle for children as www.kasteeldehaar.nl ”
“The permanent collection deserves a visit (Rietveld collection + pieces of the Dutch painting scene, I like the paintings you can find of Pyke Koch) + check which is the actual exposition they always do great exposition!”
“TivoliVredenburg is the best place to enjoy music. This large-scale cultural venue is the latest addition to Utrecht’s music and festival scene – a place where all types of music come together. The large, modern music palace houses several concert halls with perfect acoustics for symphonic music, pop, jazz, chamber music and dance. It is the first new building in Europe where music lovers of all kinds can meet up, from early in the morning until well into the night. The programme ranges from children’s concerts to matinees; from heavy metal to techno raves.”
