We usually go here for the beach time and playground, but there are also nice hiking trails. $5 per car to enter.

Five minutes South of Victoria Cottage is Rudd Pond -- the landscape here is more tranquil than the misty mountains of Taconic State Park, and this is a fantastic choice for kids as well. You can rent a boat, grill hot dogs at a free grill, swing on a terrific playground set, go hiking, and swim in the peaceful waters. Even fish!
