Fun pub in an historic building in the heart of downtown, right by the C-train station. In the summer it's amazing to spend the evening in their interior patio, removed from the street noise, but still enjoying the skyscrapers all around. Great food and drinks. Highly recommended menu item: deep fried pickles! In the basement they have concerts almost every night - check the website!

Palomino is great for live music, but also has awesome food. Get the garlic fries, but only if everyone else in your group is also planning on eating them (you'll understand why later).
