This is our favorite hike in Zion National Park. But be warned, this hike is very strenuous, but very worth it. ALL the other trails in Zion National Park are great as well, we love them all.

Angels Landing in Zion National Park is one of the most spectacular day hikes in the world. The trail to its lofty summit was hewn out of its steep, rock-solid spine in 1926 and it continues to thrill hikers to this day. The hike climbs up roughly 1,500 vertical feet along the narrow fin of stone that reaches a top elevation of 5,790 feet. A chain railing adds an element of safety, but if exposed heights make you weak in the knees, it will take a double-dose of courage to make the summit. This trail requires getting a permit in advance.

This route is famous with good reason - it offers a unique and spectacular experience, as well as a chance to appreciate a stellar view from the summit! Known as a combination rock climb/ thrilling hike, this route provides plenty of adventure, with sheer drops on either side of the final sharp ridge as you approach the top. NOTE that as of April 2022, permits will be required to hike Angel's Landing. This new permitting system is being implemented to address safety concerns related to overcrowding on the more technical sections of trail. (Visit the Zion NP website or see link in your welcome letter to read about these changes and to apply for a permit, if you wish to include this hike in your experience of the park.)
