Hiking this trail will test your endurance with the different hiking levels & experience nature. Also this trail take you to the hanging bridge where you will see an amazing view.

This beautiful, wooded trail is good for a short hike through the forest or an all day adventure including ladder climbs on the back side of Grandfather Mountain.

If you are experienced and looking for a challenge, we recommend the Profile Trail: 7 miles round-trip, quite steep in places. You can access it off of Hwy 105 near Tynecastle Shopping Center on your way to Banner Elk; the trail takes you up the backside of Grandfather Mountain. At the Grandfather Trail intersection, you can turn left to hit the highest peak in the area (Callaway Peak)…or go left down to the visitor’s center.

The Profile Trail takes you throughthe western flanks of Grandfather Mountain. With an elevation gain of over 2,000 feet and multiple forest types as one increases elevation, there is an ever-changing palette of wildflowers.
