Columbia Road Flower Market
I love going to see the gorgeous flowers in an array of colours, and to feel the bustling vibe. There is often live music, and couples and families strolling around. You always see people around east London with flowers wrapped in brown paper and you know they’ve been to Columbia Road. The street is also full of independent shops full of creativity. They start setting up at 4 am and open at 8 am, though I’ve never made it there before 12 noon.
8-2pm on Sunday. This place is fun to see the flower market, grab a coffee, croissant or bagel and see some great independent shops. Arrive early to avoid the crowding especially if it’s a sunny day.
Fun flower market! Very busy so keep bag close. Very traditional East London. Also lots of nice cafes and boutiques on the road.
Popular Sunday morning flower market. Great food and pubs nearby, often has live music. Go around 15:00 for end of day deals.
Great for an early Sunday morning start, grab a coffee and bacon butty and explore the flower and plant stalls.
Sunday to see the flower market in action. Pretty quiet the rest of the week. Lovely for a sunny day walk and exploring nearby Shoreditch & Hoxton too.
Check this old London flower market out on a Sunday. Grab a coffee from one of the many cafes down there and enjoy the flowers and the buzz of people. My tip would be to get there later on as it is less crowded. Definitively after 2pm.
“Market on Saturdays, lovely to visit the market and go for a nice stroll in the park afterwards.”
“One of London's most popular parks, a great place to relax, go for a walk, jog or cycle, or just hang out at one of the two cafes.”
“There are a variety of markets in and around the East End but the biggest draw by far is the Sunday UpMarket in the Old Truman Brewery. Here you'll find vintage stalls, quirky crafts by up and coming designers.”
“The original East London marketplace with loads of retailers, restaurants, market stalls and food traders. Open 7 days a week, a great day out for all ages!”
