Stunning views at this quiet mountain lake. No gasoline motors allowed, so you don't have the noise and buzz of speedboats and jet skis. Rent a boat, canoe or kayak for an hour or all day. Fishing (You need a VA license; no gear rentals at the lake) hiking through mountain trails, picnicking. No swimming, though. Open April to October
