This is THE local fish market. Some fish you will see still alive in buckets or taking their last breath on layers of crushed ice. It's not for everyone but if you love fresh fish, this is the place for you. Grab a Balik Ekmek (grilled fish sandwich) or there's some great, reasonably priced fish restaurants. Keep exploring until you find Arap Cami, built in the 8th century as a mosque by Umayyads, then it became a Roman Catholic church from 1325, then a mosque again under Ottoman rule.
