The Vechtstreek museum is located in the beautiful nearby park Goudestein on the Vecht in Maarssen and is located in the former country house Silverstein which after the renovation served as coach house of Goudestein. The museum focuses on the culture, history and art of the entire Vecht region. Such as attention to the historic buildings and tea domes. A kilometer away, on the grounds of the town hall, there is a small, low-key museum dedicated to the history and ethnography of the villages on the Vecht River - Maarssen, Breukelen and Loenen. The museum always has an interesting exhibition going, and there is a café that is especially attractive in the summer, under the trees of Goudestein, the main country house of Maarssen.
