Go out to the highway, a 2 kilometer walk, to catch a collectivo, which are buses that will pick up anyone that flags them down. Nice buses, can be crowded. Do not announce your destination or ask prices. Get on for the direction you want to go. Tulum is 25 pesos and Playa del Carmen is 35. Just tell the driver when you want to exit and they will stop. Do not ask how much. They will double your fare. Example, Dos Oyos is halfway to Tulum. I would watch for the sign and say Dos Ojos loudly, then thank him and pay 15 pesos. Be prepared to walk a fair bit into places like Xcaret or Xel Ha, as you are dropped on the highway. Conversely, As any of the building staff at Playa Blanca of go over to La Bahia and they will call you a taxi. Bike rentals, golf carts and car rentals are available close by. Again, ask the reception at La Bahia.
