~6 miles: The first monument dedicated to the memory of George Washington. Set on a mountain vista with bucolic views of Washington Co MD, this spot along the Appalachian Trail is definitely worth a visit. It's a short hike from the parking lot. You can easily add on as many miles as you like, going North or South on the AT.
