Lake District Wildlife Park
Really good place for families as there is a fab amount of wildlife in natural surroundings.
Lots and lots of unusual animals, including Mia cats, so funny to watch. Cafe on site. Look to spend several hours here, its a bit if a day out.
At the Lake District Wildlife there are over 100 species of animals to meet from the Boa Constrictor to Zebras to Meercats. Fun for everyone!
“Castle Brewery, Castlegate, Cockermouth, CA13 9NE. Local brewed Ales, Brewery Tour and cosy Pub... tucked away just before the old Castle, on the left hand side, up Castlegate.”
“The Crashing Wave display is one no one will forget. Intermittently, a wave crashes down onto the rocks of the display. This provides an ideal home for species such as Sea-Bass who love to be amongst the choppy waves. These waves also pull oxygen into the water allowing the fish to keep happy & healthy. This display is also home to Turbot who subtly blend into the bed of the tank and large lobsters that burrow away in corners and between rocks! The Shark & Ray Pool is a great display of native shark & skate species as well as Wrasse, Turbot, Plaice & even a couple of Conger Eels hiding within the rocks! The Rays are very sociable and will often come up to the surface to get some attention.”
