95km from Blenheim and you’re in one of the best ski areas in NZ. We definitely think the short trip is worth it.

From the top, this great little field overlooks the lake, and down onto the village, but takes about an hour to drive to around the Saint Arnaud Range. The field has ski and snowboard hire, as well as private and group lessons. There is a small shop to buy hats, gloves and goggles etc... and a great club-field cafe for a warm lunch, refreshments and to sit inside out of the cold. A shuttle service is available from the base of the mountain if you do not have your own snow chains.

Rainbow Ski Area is a great mountain within the world famous Nelson/Marlborough lifestyle region. Rainbow captures regular winter snow, all groomed to create a stunning winter playground. Operating Hours: 9:00am to 4:00pm Operating Season: Mid July until the end of September Closed Tuesdays Snow Report 08 322 2605 Mountain 03 531 1861 Access Road: 17km from State Highway 63 turnoff. Chains must be fitted or carried by all vehicles at all times from base car park. Shuttle service runs multiple trips daily from base car park.
