This is one of the Bay Area’s very few Russian-style bathhouses, similar to a sauna but hotter, with more steam. There are steam rooms and pools at various temperatures here, and you can book massages, scrubs, wraps, and facials, all using natural products. When you come out, you’ll feel incredibly cleansed. Their food is all Russian, which is very comforting to me. I love that they serve kvass, a fermented drink made from rye bread. It tastes a bit like kombucha, which they also serve.
Turkish / Russian communal bath with great amenities. Clothing-optional in co-ed facilities.
Nudist spa retreat within the city, with a Russian flair. This mermaid likes the waters and steam rooms here, also enjoying some of the best views of the Bay from their rooftop. Having traveled to Poland as a kid, the Eastern European / Russian fare is nostalgic. Recommend the soups; the borscht &…
Semi-traditional Russian baths. Use Uber or Lyft to get there. Check their website for gendered and mixed days

“Step out of your comfort zone and enjoy some gourmet comfort food inspired by Ethiopian ingredients. For the uninitiated, Ethiopian food is a diverse mix of flavors that centers around teff and injera (although I don’t think Radio Africa serves injera on a regular basis or at all). Radio Africa does sort of a more contemporary take and incorporates a lot of Western ingredients and cooking styles. Regardless, you’ll definitely come back for more. ”
“A wonderful local coffee shop with an amazing fresh bread selection and toast selections. Gourmet pizza offered on Friday and Saturday evening. ”
“Some of the best soul food in SF. The best Shrimp & grits, Fried Oysters, chicken & waffles.... It’s slightly off the beaten path, which is nice if you don’t like dealing with so much crowds and traffic. Casual, Not touristy, and amazingly for SF, not overpriced! ”
