Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve draws naturalist and scientist from around the world. Some 35,000 migratory birds and 200 endangered species make their home on 1000 acres of COASTAL WETLANDS.

This is another fun area. It’s a bit higher up the bay. You can park on the street outside Newport Dunes waterfront resort for free (always go early to get parking). You can walk down and go to the beach there. There are no waves and plenty of space to spread out and stay away from others. There are also some rentals available in the area
