“Found in the Four Seasons Hotel, Pony Line is an elegant bar with one of the best burgers in town- definitely worth a try!”
“Stylish, sexy, tasty cocktails. We found this nice traditional cocktail bar and were able to get a seat at the bar. Traditional bar tenders whip, mix, and stir up your cocktails as smells and flavors fly by. Highly recommended.”
“This place is an absolute must! It recreates a NYC metro station; the entrance is just like a subway stair! You won't notice it's there if you don't know it is, so eyes open! Once inside, you'll find original drinks and great kitchen. Anyways, if you want to eat there try to make a reservation in advance (maybe even before coming to Buenos Aires) as they have limited space for dinner and lots of enquiries. Enjoy and have fun!”
“A former theatre, the Grand Splendid is one of the world's most beautiful bookstores. Named the second best bookstore in the world by the British newspaper The Guardian, El Ateneo Grand Splendid opened in 1919 as a theatre and immediately became a beacon of porteño culture, hosting ballet, opera, and the first "talkies" shown in Buenos Aires. The national Odeon record label - now owned by EMI - was based here, and singers such as Carlos Gardel recorded on the premises. The venue was converted into a bookstore in the year 2000, beautifully preserving the original decoration, including the dome, which was painted with frescoes by Italian Nazareno Orlandi. The store stocks around 120,000 books and there is a bar on what was the stage area of the theatre, where you can drink a coffee while reading. Open: Monday - Thursday, 9am - 10pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 9.00am - midnight; Sundays, 12 noon - 10pm Web: www.yenny-elateneo.com/local/grand-splendid”
