Don’t miss a stop at the Dyberry Weaver just past the post office. He hand dyes natural wool from llamas and weaves incredible one-of-a-kind rugs and tapestries. It’s fascinating to see the process even if the rugs are out of your price range. There is also a bookstore, other galleries, and stores, all worth browsing.

Charles Hadley Blanchard has been active as a weaver and artisan since he began his career in an artists’ community in Georgia in the late 1960s. Since that time he has integrated many of the world’s weaving traditions and techniques into his unique work. Charles weaves his work on a Harrisville Loom. His use of colors and designs spans the range from bold and dramatic to subtle and intricate. He works with a variety of fibers including linen, many kinds of wool, silk, alpaca and worsted acrylic.
