Must try, real belgian fries (not french!) Specially after a few beers late at night. Go for fries with mayonaise and stoofvleessaus and whatever snacks you fancy! :-)

I've know this place since I was a student, which is many years ago. It is THE most well known frituur in Antwerp and they have excellent french fries.

The most famous 'friture' from Antwerp. French fries should be called Belgian fries, as fries with mayonaise or with stoofvlees (meat stew prepared with beer) are the Belgian fastfoodspecialty. Friture number one is a take away friture, that's how you should eat frieten, fries, frites anyway. There are some tables but these are more for tourists :-) The friture is near to the beautiful town hall, which you can see while eating. De Grote markt (big marketplace) is in front of you. Open 7/7 and they say 24/24 but that's exaggerated but open til the early hours.
