Standedge Tunnel is famous as the longest, highest, deepest canal tunnel in the UK. Enter in Yorkshire and come out of the tunnel in Lancashire or vice versa. The canal and river trust run small boats from Marsden, near the railway station, to Tunnel End or walk along the canal bank. Park in the station carpark, where you'll also find the National Trust office with information about walks and other guides.
