Chalet Rock N' Love

Cars and guitars get surprising second lives at this chalet like no other in the French Alps. The vintage autos are transformed into a pool table and beds, and music memorabilia lines the walls—and provides a holiday soundtrack, thanks to a Wurlitzer jukebox. This fully staffed villa is in Tignes les Brévières, close to more than 300 kilometers of ski runs in the Espace Killy area. After a day on the slopes, unwind around the bar area, where you can noodle on an acoustic guitar or test your skill on the pool table made from a Mini Cooper. Or go for a swim in the private indoor pool, which is part of a spa area featuring a sauna, steam room, exercise room, and an alfresco hot tub. Designer (and rally-winning race driver) Guerlain Chicherit brought a little of the American Southwest to the chalet’s wood-paneled rooms, with Route 66 signs matching the vintage vibe of the Mini Cooper. The open-concept living spaces flow from a sitting area and a dining table for 14 to a fully equipped kitchen where the villa’s chef works on state-of-the-art fixtures. The nearby village of Tignes les Brévières has been perched in the mountains since the 13th century, but it’s known today for some of the best snow in Europe.
