230 Hominy Creek RdMt Mitchell is the highest point east of the Mississippi River. Stunning 360 degree views are just a short walk from the parking lot. There is a lovely short walk through the woods that starts just below the top and ends by the parking lot.

This is the most rewarding short hike along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a fairly easy 3/4 mile hike to the Pinnacle where there are amazing 360 degree views. This is a fabulous spot to watch the sunset!!
