Food Scene

This cafe is in the row of shops underneath the flat. The food and coffee here is lovely, the owner has a swedish/Persian background and serves great food from these backgrounds as wel as English breakfast. Great for breakfast and lunch.

Just across the road from the flat. The pub is usually busy, and serves decent pizza. On Monday this is 2 for 1 which is pretty great value!

This is a fun market with all sorts of food stalls and trinket stalls. It has a great atmosphere, and gets pretty busy at weekends. Worth exploring at lunchtime!

Absolutely ridiculous Italian restaurant, decorated in a70s maximalist style. Everything is over the top ad delicious, booking is required in advance and it is on the pricier end of the scale.

Theres a gallery, cinema and theatre here, but we like to go here just to have a walk, the centre is a 70s brutalist housing development, and it's a realy interesting piece of urban desgn, about 15 to 20 minutes walk from the flat.

Open on Sunday mornings til 1400, the whole St gets lined with flower stalls, selling reasonably priced (for london) flowers. I imagine you wouldn't be buying any, but the street is lovely, and there are loads of coffee shops and bakeries too!

Neighbourhoods

Kingsland Rd has well over a dozen Vietnamese restaurants. It's less than 10 minute wak away and is pretty good value for money. We've been to a few of them ad never had a bad meal, we regularly go to Song Que and BunBunBun, and the spring roll bun in both placesis delicious!
