Hiking Trails:

Magnetic Rock trail is a 3 mile easy hike. Magnetic rock is a 60-foot rock with strong magnetic attraction. Bring your compass and test the magnetism. You will see past disturbances: 1999 blowdown, 2002 prescribed burn, and 2007 Ham Lake wildfire. The trail connects with the Gunflint Lake trails. Use a map for hiking past Magnetic Lake.

I recommend fueling up in Grand Marais.

While there is gas available on the trail, it is more expensive and hours can be hit or miss.
