Glen Falls Trail is a 2.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Highlands, North Carolina that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. Hiking down is fairly easy, however, back out we would rate as strenuous due to steepness and the many roots that line the trail. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round.

Glen Falls Trail is a 2.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Highlands, North Carolina that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. Hiking down is fairly easy, however, back out we would rate as strenuous due to steepness and the many roots that line the trail. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round.

Driving Directions: Take US 64 West from Franklin for 3.7 miles. Turn right on Old Murphy Rd, go 0.1 mi, and then turn left on Wayah Rd (SR 1310). Go 6.3 miles and turn left on FS 388, which is gravel. Go 2 miles to the parking area on the right, which is signed. (FS 388 may be gated in winter, and - although a bit long - makes a nice added hike to get to the trailhead).
