Evergreen is a cute town just higher in elevation to cool off on hot days.
Nederland is a unique tiny town that has a couple of good spots to eat or grab coffee to or from beautiful hiking areas. If you go, Crosscut Pizza is my fav place to stop.

Obviously an amazing music venue, but it's a Denver Mountain Park and is open for parking in the morning before shows or all day on days when there are not shows.

Just over the Continental Divide (less than an hour without traffic) is the town of Frisco with tons to do. You can go further south to get to Breckenridge or further west to get to Copper Mountain and Leadville.
