Built in the early 1900s by Sam Hill as a memorial to WWI soldiers from Klickitat County who died during the war. It is a full sized, near exact replica of the original. From Stonehenge's incredible location, you can enjoy great views of the Columbia River, green farmland, the Sam Hill Memorial Bridge and Mt. Hood.
There is a picnic table under shade from an old oak tree and rocks on the cliff to savor the amazing view.
Also on the land are the original corner store and post office constructed by Sam Hill that are still standing and well preserved.

1602 Observatory DrThis is a 5-acre educational facility on a 2,100-foot-high hilltop. The observatory is home to one of the nation's largest public telescopes and attracts thousands of sky-watchers annually since the opening in 1973.
This historic trailhead is part of the Toll House Park and the entrance for the Bridge of the Gods from the Washington side off of Hwy 14. Along this trail, not too far in is a lone grave of Norman Palmer who apparently he died in what was known as the Cascade Massacre in 1856. "On March 26, 1856, warriors of the Yakama, Klickitat, and Cascades tribes attacked Americans at the Cascades of the Columbia killing 14 civilians and three soldiers. Indians besieged the settlers overnight until soldiers from The Dalles relieved them. The incident is to be called the Cascades Massacre and is the costliest event in terms of white casualties during the Yakama Indian War of 1855-1856." Credits: George W. Food scene
Every time I visit overnight with my kids we HAVE TO come here for brunch. They have amazing pastries and sandwiches. In the evening they now have pizza! There is a patio off the back with a beautiful view, part covered, part not covered. Propane heaters on the patio for those cold mornings.
