One of the best restaurants we know of. Come here for a special occasion and you won't be disappointed, though not a kid-friendly menu. Lovely, socially-distanced outdoor dining (comfortable at all times of the year). Must make a reservation at least one week in advance, more if you're hoping to dine in on a weekend. Impeccable food and ambience, with the utmost attention to service and details. Less than 10 minute drive from the house and right in the heart of Carlsbad Village, a destination in itself.

A modern Indonesian-inspired restaurant 2 miles north of the house, in the heart of downtown Oceanside along historic Coast Highway. Outdoor seating year-round and hip ambience with painted murals inside. Great for a date night. If you have an open mind and palette, you won't be disappointed - highly recommend everything on the menu, especially the meat. (Fried chicken is a must-try). Probably wouldn't bring kids, unless they're adventurous eaters!
