Sightseeing/Activities
Overlook park is a great place to view and access Canyon Lake. It is located on the other side of the dam. You can either walk/ ride your bike there across the dam or drive around and park in their lot. This is a very popular park with free access. Parking capacity is limited so go early (before 10am)or go late (after 4:30) to avoid the park being full upon your arrival.

This gravel beach is great for families. It has shallow water and is a great place for kids to swim. There is a small entrance fee.

This is a winding scenic drive that follows the lower Guadalupe from Canyon Lake to Gruene. There are multiple outfitters here for tubing and kayaking. Due to Covid-19 please call the outfitters ahead of time to learn about their hours and policies. Start your drive down River Road in Sattler. If you have tubes of your own, this is a great place to park, inflate your tubes, and enjoy the Horseshoe float trip. You just pay for parking and air (if you need it) inside the convince store. No shuttle needed. This place is located right in the middle of the Horseshoe. The convince store also has an essentials you mught need for your float trip: drinks, water shoes, sunscreen, waterproof bag, etc..
