5 minutes away from my house and greatest place to eat breakfast. The wait may be long but well worth it. IT doesn't get more country than biscuits and gravy, corn bread and fresh juices like papaya juice.

Steel grass Farm has the best tour in Kapaa. They take you on a tour of their plantation and have you taste all the local fruits like: lilikoi, mango, lychee, guava and lots more! They also tell you history about the land and chocolate. At the end, you will finally end up at their chocolate house. Where they educate you on the health benefits of chocolate and have you taste many different styles. After that, you can enjoy their market and buy some souvenir and chocolate to take home. Please see me for bookings.

Closest waterfall you can access near our house. Located in a subdivision near Kapahi Park. 20 minute walk takes you to the first waterfall where you can jump off. The second waterfall is a swimming hole. You must remember to say hello to locals as you enter, and realize its a sacred place. Please pick up your rubbish and show respect. MOSQUITO spray is a MUST.

Koke'e state park is a must stop on the way up to the mountain. You can stop to eat in the restaurant or in the beautiful park with the FAKE state bird (the Canadian bird) the NENE goose. You can hit the museum to learn of the history. Before you hike, stop at KRCP behind the museum to get information on the invasive and endemic species. They also do guided tours. Salt Pond is actually guarded by hawaiian families. Keive's family is one of those families. It is a salt pond that is man made to collect salt. you can not buy it. You may ask the family for salt but they will ask you to work. As it should be, Hawaiian communities were one of the most civilized cultures that showed how life was sustainable without money. So civilized we had electricity before the USA!
