Sightseeing
This place is beautiful and an iconic San Diego spot with lots of sightseeing options: Gardens, giant trees, several museums, the old globe theatre & lots of chances to see artwork. This is also home to one of the largest organ pavilions in the world. No entrance fee to the park and parking is free. Some museums are also free to enter. In the afternoon grab a bite and/or drink at Panama 66 or El Prado. Some days they have food markets and live music too. According to Diana it is a must see spot when visiting San Diego (also one of her favorite SD spots in general). In December they have December nights which is pretty to see as well.

Sail Bay is pretty scenic bay and more of a local spot. During the day it’s a great place to kayak, ride a bike, take a walk, paddle board or just soak in the sun and scenery. The board walk is a lot less busy than Mission’s Beach boardwalk and very minimal wake in case someone in the group doesn’t care for crashing waves. Also, it’s very close (like walking distance) to parts of Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. And there’s a few rental options in the area. I recommend to check out Groupon for any rental deals too!

Mission Beach is a good option about 20 min from our home. Close to a lot of other nice spots in San Diego including Sea World, Belmont Park, Sail Bay and Pacific Beach.

Gas lamp is another historic part of San Diego that has grown over that last 10 years! Lots of good food and bar options. Parking can be difficult, but definitely not impossible especially if you don’t mind paying for parking (usually about $15) or metered if you get lucky or free after hours! Best to Uber here especially if you plan on having a couple of drinks anyways. Trolley runs right through here as well.
