Blue Moon Bakery has the best bagels – they turn them into hot sandwiches if you’d like. Don’t worry if Blue Moon has a line, it moves quickly. This is a great breakfast - eat half, save half for lunch.

Easy to Moderate 3.5 mile out and back hike to Lily Pad Lake. This trail starts just north of Frisco about a 15 minute drive from the condo. The first lake you come to is not actually Lily Pad Lake, go another 100 yards up the right side of the first lake for the true Lily Pad Lake. I consider this one of the best hikes in the area unless you want to go 8-12 miles for ½ day. The trailhead parking fills fast, I recommend going early.

At the top of the hill is Lake Dillon Bike Rental – there are several Bike Rentals in the area however. Take out a rental and bike to Frisco, and if you are feeling ambitious on to Breckenridge. From Frisco to Breck is a steady 9 mile uphill grade – but it is a blast coming down! If you make it to Breck and don’t have the energy to make it back, the summit bus service can offer you a free ride with a bike rack in front of the bus. Some of the Frisco bike rentals will bus you to the top of Vail pass – you coast down to Frisco with great views.

I consider this pricey - but the only game around besides traveling to one of the ski resorts. Tubing at Frisco Adventure Park - Reservations are required. The Frisco Adventure Park has various lanes of tubing, each one has a different experience – some are mellower, while others are steeper with more rolling terrain. The hill is accessed by a surface lift, making it the ideal activity for the whole family. Tubing runs until March 22, 2021. Call 970-668-2558 with any questions.

Cross Country Skiing or snow shoeing – last year a cross country trail ran on the lake right up near the back of our condo complex. There are three Nordic Centers in Summit County. I can’t speak to which is better. Keystone Nordic Center is closest - With more than nine miles (17 kilometers) of groomed trails and access to more than 35 miles of nearby trails throughout the White River National Forest, the Keystone Nordic Center is a haven for outdoor recreation. Choose from classic, skate skis, or snowshoes for your next adventure. Call 970-496-4275 with any questions

City/town information
Glenwood Springs starting with an early hike up to Hanging Lake – one of Colorado’s signature hikes – reservations/permit required
After the hike relax in a hot spring, but instead of the traditional Glenwood Springs, try Iron Mountain Hot Springs – much nicer, natural feel. Caution on Hanging Lake – it is a very difficult hike (steep and rocky). Use the website to determine parking and trail access. Wrap up the day with dinner in downtown Glenwood Springs.
Hot Springs and hiking not your thing? Try the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Check Groupon for possible discounts.

Palisade Fruit and Wine Byway. Last year we discovered the Palisade farms and wineries and plan to make it an annual visit. Best visited mid-August. You can pay for a wine tour but you don’t really need to. Check out the Fruit and Wine byway and just explore and visit. “Experience the beautiful orchards, lavender gardens, world class
vineyards, premium wineries and fresh farm market fruit stands along the way”. It makes for a long day, but worth it.
