Pier Fishing Port San Luis has two public fishing piers, Avila Pier and Harford Pier. Thanks to the open ocean conditions, clean water, and an abundance of bait fish, these piers enjoy excellent fishing opportunities. In the spring, you can fish for halibut, salmon, and mackerel. Rockfish, sharks and barracuda are caught in summer and fall. There are bait and tackle shops on both piers. No license is required when fishing from either of the Port San Luis piers. If you decide to do some surf fishing, however, you must obtain a fishing license. Various types of fishing licenses are available from either of the sportfishing offices.

A wonderful walk on the pier. You can't miss the hilarious elephant seals that hang out and you will enjoy beautiful views of the ocean and landscape. Food and fun all around.

I can't say enough good things about this pier. its a short 15 minute drive to Port SLO from Los Osos and let me tell you, its worth it! You can drive your car on the pier, they have an amazing local fish market where you can buy live crab, oysters, halibut, snapper, clams and so much more. Enjoy a beer at Mersa, which is right next to the fish market, You can easily spend a few hours exploring.
