The home of contemporary art and performance in Portsmouth. Live acts as well as a spacious gallery. Great taco and tequila bar on site. Open a few years this has quickly become the hub for innovation and community in our region.
This place is AWESOME for a night out in Portsmouth - first start with incredible tacos at Barrio and then hit up a live concert. National touring acts and local flavor play here.
Art gallery, performance space, and restaurant/bar. See a contemporary art exhibit, watch a film, hear a story telling event, see a touring band, and have dinner at one of Portsmouth's best arts venues.
“This is an old watering hole and music venue that recently had an extensive facelift. Food, drink, and really good music...it is a staple of our local scene. Used to be people showed up on Friday nights, with instruments, to sing sea shanties...not sure that happens anymore.”
“Chef Matt Louis, who trained with Thomas Keller at the French Laundry, is a community favorite. At Moxy (his first of three restaurants, see: The Franklin and soon to open, Luigi's) he serves up small plates (tapas) with an America twist. Not only do his dishes feature local ingredients, he pushes the boundaries by including ingredients like green crab, an invasive species on the coast of Maine. This is a place to share food. Reservation recommended. ”
“Some of the best picnic spots are oceanfront on a grassy hill. The park also has a nice series of trails that follow the water, historic military occupation sites and the Seacoast Science Center museum. ”
“Specialty tea and coffees, expertly made. Fresh, healthy breakfast and lunch options. Work space for the mobile workforce. I'm there, at least once a week, getting my usual: an iced soy latté and a Tofu Tiger wrap! Really tasty.”
