The Bristol national Balloon Festival is held annually in England. Teams from the UK and other parts of the world bring their hot air balloons to the site and participate in mass ascents where as many as 100 balloons may launch at a time. The event was first held in 1979 and is now one of the largest in Europe.

This is Europe’s largest annual meeting of hot air balloons, attracting over 130 from across the globe. A spectacular free event featuring hot air balloons taking off at dawn and dusk. Taking place at Ashton Court, the event is free, but parking is charged for and can be pre-booked.

BRISTOL INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA 2022 The iconic Bristol Fiesta is back for another year, with even more spectacular hot air balloons taking to the Bristol skyline. Four days of free family fun… As the largest balloon Fiesta in the UK the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta normally attracts thousands of spectators and visitors every year. They will be launching from the Fiesta Show Ground on all of the slots over the Fiesta Weekend (starting Thursday 11th August evening then Friday morning and evening, Saturday morning and evening and finally Sunday morning and evening). These flights will take place at approximately 6am and 6pm (weather permitting) and will last for about an hour.
