Ultimate independent hipster coffee joint. The coffee and the people are always great, and you’ll find yourself surrounded by Amsterdam creatives and other young professionals working on their laptops (except in weekends).
Best. Coffee. Ever. Around the corner. Very cute place with great coffee and a lovely place to sit and watch the people go by.
Mostly locals come here to enjoy the amazing coffee they make here. Simple breakfast (croissant or breakfast bowl) is also available. Super cosy :)
Grocery or Supermarket
“Very convenient and Dutch market leader, Albert Heijn supermarket. This particular one is fast and convenient with self-scanning registers, and only accepts Maestro cards ('pinpas'). No cash, no credit cards. If you want to use cash, you can use another Albert Heijn, the one at Vijzelstraat (see below).”
“Great wine bar with wines from all around the world - from Lebanon to Georgia to Chile. Fantastic snacks - burrata, charcuterie, cheeses - to go with the wine also!”
“I'm a fan because of the focus on quality and good atmosphere. What else do you need?”
“Near the Leidseplein opposite the Heineken Experience is a small piece of Italy called La Storia della Vita. With the high ceilings, the classic decor and the many mirrors, it reminds you of a pallazzo in Tuscany. To enhance the atmosphere and thus also the taste sensation, someone is playing the piano in the background.”
“Looking for something tasty, healthy and easy on the pocket? Soup en zo is just off the hustle and bustle of the Leidseplein area and has wonderful quick, hearty meals on offer. Stay and eating for excellent people watching as they zip by on their bicycles. ”
