Easy trails that can be walked or ran, not to mention a peaceful creek to cool down during the hot summer months

Beautiful waterfalls are only 16 miles away. Walk down the paths. Trek up hills. Be prepared to drive up a bumpy road for at least, 5 miles. Bring enough to eat for 3-4 hours and at least 32 ounces of water. Bring wipes, hand sanitizer, small waste bags, bug repellant, moisturizer. Wear comfortable clothing, shoes and light jackets. The park is usually closed the last week of March and the first week of April.

We recommend checking online to reserve your paid parking spot. Also, the park closes on high fire danger days. visitplacer.com

The 1,200-acre Hidden Falls Park is located between Auburn and Lincoln, north of the Ophir/Newcastle area. It is situated along the Coon Creek and Deadman Creek watersheds, located south of the Bear River. Hidden Falls offers almost 30 miles of multiple-use, natural surface trails for hiking, running, biking and equestrian riding, two observation decks for viewing the 30 +/- foot waterfalls, riparian habitat along several creeks, unimproved picnic areas, swimming areas and fishing access. Portable restrooms are located within the Park. Engaging interpretive panels are mounted at various spots along the trails, and provide valuable information on the local flora and fauna within the Park.
