The lovely scenic walk along the River Ness and onto the Islands is not to be missed if the weather is kind Its a beautiful quiet spot in the centre of the city and provides a calm and peaceful break. It features a huge variety of different trees and with it, birdsong. The sound of the river also accompanies you as you make your way around and the views from the bridges give opportunities for some pretty photographs. The ground is a bit uneven but otherwise its a great morning jogging opportunity taking only 25 minutes round trip from the cottage.l

The River Ness is a river about 6 miles long, which flows from the northern end of Loch Ness in Scotland, through Loch Dochfour, north-east to Inverness, with a total fall in height of about 16 metres before discharging into the Beauly Firth.
