The best bread in New Haven! This great cafe/bookstore has been in New Haven for decades. It is in the ground floor of the British Art Museum which makes for a nice combination of activities on a rainy day. The British Art Museum is free also!
Great for coffee, tea, and soup, sandwich or pastry. And read a book while you munch! Downtown New Haven.
Great little bookstore and cafe with sandwiches and salads. Walkable to Yale School of Art, Drama and Architecture.
Great little cafe with really good breakfast inside a pretty decent (if slightly overpriced) bookstore.
“The incredible collections at the Yale University Gallery are a must see for anyone visiting New Haven. The range of styles and eras represented will satisfy the most diverse groups. Works include paintings and scultptures from Joan Miró, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso and Mark Rothko. As a small bonus, admission is free!”
“See the beautiful architecture at the massive rare book library (one of the largest of its kind in the world). The old and rare books are stacked up to 6 stories high in an awe-inspiring glass covered tower. The exhibits themselves are also one of a kind with items such as an original Gutenberg Bible.”
“Quiet little bar with local craft beers and well-priced drinks under a recording studio. Perfect for a more intimate and low-key night.”
“Great small secondhand book store where you can get a snack and read at the tables. Lovely glasshouse seating area.”
