One of our favorite 'special night out' restaurants. The dark mole sauce is superb as is the vegetarian tamale (probably the best tamale in town).
We love Cafe Poca Cosa, and have yet to find another restaurant like it. If you only eat at one restaurant in Tucson, this is the one we would suggest :) Make sure to call and make a reservation if you want to go for dinner.
Regarded by most as the best restaurant in town, this is the place to go for a special occasion. Reservations are a must!
This is an upscale place near downtown. They have a rotate the menu! I always get the chef special and have yet to be disappointed.
Gourmet Mexican food and great margaritas! Not your common Mexican food. I would recommend the "plato de cafe poca cosa" it lets you try multiple dishes on the daily hand made menu.
“If you are here in the summer, check their schedule and go first thing in the morning to catch the animals up and about. There are plenty of indoor spaces but, the meandering pathways to view the desert animals...through this lush desert are not to be missed. At times, they have a night opening in the summer...their programming changes but, it is always planned well and very interesting.”
“The Tucson Museum of Art is located a bike ride, or long walk away from the casita. They have great exhibits and a kid-friendly area that was recently renovated. ”
“Amazing Mexican food in historic, family owned spot with great ambience. A fun way to end a day of sightseeing downtown!”
“The Rialto Theatre is a performance theatre and concert venue located on Congress Street in downtown Tucson.”
